Metro Calderdale Buses at old Halifax Station 1976 - BW014X
A typical daily scene in the old Halifax Crossfields bus station in 1976. We are looking down row E towards the high side wall of the old Odeon cinema, and an ex-Leeds, Metro Calderdale double decker bus awaits passengers for its journey to Causeway Foot. The bus is a 1962 Roe bodied Daimler CVG6LX, registration plate 572CNW, fleet number 872, and is adorned with a side advertising banner stating 'Inspiration is a Green Sensation - Websters Green Label'.
At the bottom of the stand is another Metro Calderdale bus, the route number 2 to Keighley which ran from this stop every two hours. It was regularly a Leyland Leopard, and this one was a 1973 Plaxton bodied PSU4B/2R, fleet number 3006, and registration plate UJX916M.
An interesting look at an everyday scene at the Keighley stop in the old Halifax bus station in the 70's. (order ref: bw014x)
