Photos Past & Present is a searchable online archive of over 6,000 rare old historical photographs that you can purchase individually as high quality photographic prints (by post), or as image downloads that you can receive instantly and print them out yourself
What is a ‘Photographic Print by Post’?
When you add a ‘photographic print by post’ to your shopping cart and purchase by Paypal, you will receive a high quality C-Type photographic print in the post. These luxury photographs will not smudge or fade over time
What is a ‘Digital Download Image’?
When you add a ‘digital download image’ to your shopping cart and purchase via Paypal, you will instantly receive an email with a download link where you can download the high quality image for your collection and print it out yourself
What size are the photos?
All the photographs in this archive are available as 6″x4″ or large 12″x8″ size photographic prints by post. Likewise, if you purchase a ‘digital download image’ you also have the choice of 6″x4″ or large “12×8″ image at 300dpi, already sized and ready for you to print on either on 6″x4” or A4 size photo paper
Are the photos copyrighted?
Yes, all photographs in the archive are copyrighted by Photos Past & Present
Am I allowed to sell the photographs?
No, the copyright of all photos and images remains with Photos Past & Present. No re-selling or publishing is allowed without the prior consent of Photos Past & Present
Am I allowed to share or copy the photographs?
When you purchase either a photograph print or an image download, the copyright allows you to make copies for your own personal use only. If you want to publish an image on the internet on a site such as Facebook or Flickr etc, you will have to purchase a ‘Licensed’ image.
Am I allowed to upload the photos to sites such as Facebook or Flickr etc?
You can purchase a ‘licensed’ image to share on sites on the internet, just select this option when adding an image to the shopping cart. The licensed image has a small ‘Photos Past & Present’ logo at the bottom of the image, and you are allowed to share this type of image anywhere on the internet and multiple times, provided that you have purchased this licensed image from Photos Past & Present
How do I purchase a ‘licensed image’ so that I can share it on the internet?
When you are ready to add your chosen image to your shopping cart, look for the ‘Licensed Image’ option, select it and click ‘add to cart’
Can I order a mixture of ‘Prints by post’ and ‘digital download images’ in the same order?
Yes, you can order any variety of photo format that you like. When you select which options you require when you add your photos to the shopping cart, the combination of items will be automatically calculated and processed upon payment
